People believe they’ve spotted key detail in the eyes of Nancy Guthries kidnapping suspect

The FBI has released chilling surveillance images in the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie, prompting widespread online focus on the suspect’s eyes.

The newly recovered photos show a masked, armed individual outside the 84-year-old’s Tucson home in the early morning hours of her disappearance. Now in its 11th day, the case reached a major turning point with the release of the footage—the first significant public breakthrough since Nancy vanished on February 1. Two ransom deadlines demanding $6 million in bitcoin have already passed.

Shared by FBI Director Kash Patel, the images show the suspect tampering with a video doorbell camera while wearing a balaclava, gloves, a jacket, and a backpack. Authorities said the footage was recovered from residual data after recording devices were removed.

While no suspect has been identified, social media users have analyzed the visible eye area, debating whether the eyebrow shape suggests the person may be female. Law enforcement has not confirmed the individual’s gender and has urged the public to avoid speculation.

A former FBI agent described the suspect’s handling of the firearm and camera as unusual, possibly indicating inexperience. Authorities say tips have increased since the images were released, and the investigation remains active.
