Video Shows Moments Before ICE Agent Fatally Shot Minneapolis Woman

Federal authorities released body-camera and cellphone footage showing the moments before a federal immigration agent fatally shot Renee Good, a Minneapolis woman, during a confrontation with officers.

The videos show Good backing her car away, then accelerating forward toward an agent standing in front of the vehicle. Shots are fired moments later, and Good’s car continues down the street before crashing into a parked vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey disputed President Trump’s claim that Good “ran over” the agent, writing in The New York Times that video evidence suggests she was attempting to leave, not attack. Federal officials, however, say the agent acted in self-defense, citing his prior injury from being dragged by a vehicle in a separate incident. Video from the shooting shows the agent walking normally afterward.

Authorities also allege Good had been following and harassing ICE officers earlier that day and identified her as an immigration activist affiliated with ICE Watch, a group that monitors immigration enforcement in sanctuary cities.

Good’s partner, Rebecca Good, said the couple had intentionally stopped near officers to support neighbors, stating, “We had whistles. They had guns.”

The shooting has sparked political backlash against the Trump administration and renewed scrutiny of ICE operations. As investigations continue, officials remain divided over whether the shooting was justified self-defense or excessive force.
