Caroline Kennedy Becomes Emotional During Speech at JFK Award Ceremony — Her Words About Tatiana Schlossberg

Caroline Kennedy’s Emotional Tribute to Her Late Daughter Touches Hundreds

At the 2026 JFK Profile in Courage Award Ceremony in Boston, Caroline Kennedy delivered a brief but heartfelt tribute that became the evening’s most emotional moment.

While helping honor Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, Caroline took a moment to remember her late daughter, Tatiana Schlossberg, who had served on the board of the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation.

“Most of all, we remember Tatiana, who represented everything my parents stood for in her beautiful, amazing, and too-short life,” Caroline said, her voice filled with emotion.

The audience of more than 650 people responded with a long round of applause, giving her a moment to compose herself.

Tatiana passed away in 2025 at age 35 after a difficult battle with acute myeloid leukemia, an aggressive blood cancer diagnosed shortly after the birth of her second child. Despite years of treatment, including chemotherapy, bone marrow transplants, and clinical trials, she continued to focus on her family and the work she loved.

Many people watching the ceremony noted the sadness in Caroline’s expression, while others praised her strength in honoring her daughter’s memory so publicly.

Her moving tribute served as a reminder that courage is not only found in public service but also in facing personal loss with grace, love, and resilience.
