Another episode of Wheel of Fortune has sparked debate among viewers after a contestant lost a bonus round puzzle that many fans considered unfair.
During the February 14 episode, commercial pilot Conner Kemmsies from California advanced to the bonus round after winning $19,080 in cash and prizes, including a whale-watching cruise to Baja California.
The final puzzle was in the “Phrase” category. After the standard letters and Conner’s chosen letters were revealed, the board showed:
_ D _ D M _ _ _ M E _ _ R _
Conner quickly solved the first part, “I DID MY,” but ran out of time before completing the answer: “I DID MY HOMEWORK.”
After the buzzer sounded, Conner laughed and joked, “I don’t do homework anymore. I’m not in school now.”
The puzzle immediately sparked reactions online. Many viewers argued that “I did my homework” is simply a sentence, not a commonly recognized phrase.
“That’s not a phrase, that’s a sentence,” one fan wrote, while others called the puzzle unusually difficult for the category.
Others disagreed, saying the answer was straightforward once the first two words were solved.
The controversy didn’t stop there. Some fans also complained that the bonus wheel once again landed on the show’s minimum $40,000 prize, leading to renewed claims that the wheel lands on the same amount too often.
While some viewers believe both the puzzle and prize outcome were perfectly fair, others felt the contestant was put at a disadvantage.
The episode has added to ongoing discussions among fans about puzzle quality and bonus round prizes, proving that even after decades on the air, Wheel of Fortune can still get viewers talking.
