Tattooed Mom Fires Back at Critics: “I Love My Skin—Keep Your Opinions to Yourself”
A young British woman is pushing back against critics who claim she’ll regret her tattoos when she’s older.
Taylor Paige Courtenay, 27, from South Devon, England, has body art covering much of her skin—from her neck and arms to her legs—and says she views her tattoos as a “tapestry of memories” that tell her story.
Often criticized by the “older generation,” Courtenay has taken to TikTok to respond. In one viral clip, she admitted she’s “come to terms” with not being “the girl they take home to their parents” but insists, “I don’t even care—my skin makes me happy.”
When commenters warned her that her tattoos would “look bad at 60,” Courtenay shot back: “Bold of you to assume you even look good at 60. I wish they’d keep their opinions to themselves.”
Her blunt response sparked mixed reactions. Some users criticized her revealing posts and tattoos, calling them “graffiti,” while others praised her confidence and individuality.
“Screw them,” one supporter wrote. “Got my first ink at 17 and no regrets at 60.” Another added, “Your body is yours. Not everyone has to like it.”
Courtenay has since disabled comments on her social media, choosing to embrace her identity without outside noise. And according to a December 2024 update, she’s now happily with the father of her baby, born in summer 2023—proving she’s still very much “that girl.”
