Trump to sue Trevor Noah after controversial Epstein joke at Grammys

The 2026 Grammy Awards at Crypto.com Arena were anything but routine, blending racy fashion, surprising award announcements, political commentary, and a sharply pointed joke aimed at Donald Trump.

Highlights included Chappell Roan’s bold red-carpet outfit and Cher’s surreal gag announcing a long-deceased award winner. But the most talked-about moment came during Song of the Year, when host Trevor Noah quipped:

“…every artist wants [a Grammy] almost as much as Trump wants Greenland, which makes sense because Epstein’s island is gone, he needs a new one to hang out with Bill Clinton.”

The joke drew immediate attention online, especially as Trump’s name reportedly appears over 1,000 times in newly released Jeffrey Epstein-related documents. While appearing in the files doesn’t imply wrongdoing, Trump denied any illegal activity and suggested political motives behind the reporting.

Following the ceremony, Trump criticized the Grammys and Noah on Truth Social, calling the remarks “false and defamatory” and hinting at possible legal action.

The 2026 Grammys highlighted how award shows now mix entertainment with political and cultural commentary, generating debate that extends far beyond the stage. Fashion, humor, and controversy combined to make the night unforgettable.
