GOP Lawmaker Demands DOJ Probe Into Soros-Funded Organizations

Buddy Carter has formally called for a federal investigation into organizations linked to George Soros, alleging they funded groups associated with domestic unrest and pro-Hamas messaging. In a letter to the Justice Department, Carter claims millions of dollars moved through Soros-backed nonprofits and argues that the DOJ’s failure to act reflects a pattern of unequal enforcement.

Citing an alleged $80 million funding trail identified by the Capital Research Center, Carter maintains that the scale of the funding alone justifies scrutiny, regardless of political ideology or philanthropic branding. He frames the issue not as partisan retaliation, but as a test of whether the law is applied consistently.

The call for investigation intensifies a long-running debate over billionaire-funded activism and the boundaries between lawful protest, political influence, and violence. The allegations also place federal officials in a difficult position, as action or inaction could carry significant political consequences.
