Iran has issued a sharp warning to Donald Trump, telling him to “be careful not to be eliminated” after he threatened severe retaliation if Iran disrupts oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.
The statement, attributed to Ali Larijani and Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, rejected U.S. pressure and signaled defiance. It followed Trump’s warning of “death, fire and fury” and claims the U.S. could cripple Iran’s ability to rebuild.
Tensions have surged alongside rising oil prices, with about 20% of global supply passing through the Strait. The rhetoric comes after reported U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, further escalating the conflict.
Despite Trump suggesting the war is nearly over, U.S. officials and Iran’s Revolutionary Guard indicate the situation is far from settled, with both sides signaling they will determine what happens next.
