Actress Kianna Underwood, best known for her childhood role on Nickelodeon’s All That, has died after a hit-and-run crash in Brooklyn. She was 33.
Underwood was struck around 6:50 a.m. on Jan. 16 while crossing the intersection of Watkins Street and Pitkin Avenue in Brownsville, according to police. Authorities say she was hit by a black Ford SUV and then struck a second time by another vehicle. Both drivers fled the scene. She was pronounced dead at the scene, and no arrests have been made.
Her father, Anthony Underwood, shared a heartbreaking message on social media, questioning whether anyone showed his daughter compassion in her final moments. “Did anyone try to comfort my baby as she lay dying in the street alone,” he wrote.
Underwood rose to fame on All That and later voiced Fuschia Glover on Little Bill from 1999 to 2004. She also appeared in films including The 24 Hour Woman and Death of a Dynasty, and toured nationally with Hairspray as Little Inez.
In recent years, friends and neighbors say Underwood struggled financially and was reportedly homeless. Former All That castmate Angelique Bates previously pleaded publicly for support, criticizing the lack of help for Underwood during her hardship.
Her death has shocked fans who grew up watching her, and tributes continue to pour in.
Rest in peace, Kianna Underwood.
