Eight-year-old Ryan, home alone and struggling with his homework, followed his mother’s advice to call 911 when he needed help. When the dispatcher learned Ryan had been alone for hours, police were sent to check on him.
Officers discovered Ryan’s mother was missing and traced her phone to a remote area outside town. With the help of a K9 unit, they found her unconscious in her car, where she had fainted from heat and exhaustion after her phone died. She was rushed to the hospital and later recovered.
Ryan was reunited with his mother, his innocent call for homework help ultimately saving her life and highlighting the importance of listening carefully when children ask for help.
