After less than three hours of deliberation, a Collin County jury unanimously convicted him of murder.<\/p>\n<p>While Anthony remained mostly expressionless as the verdict was read, emotions quickly overwhelmed others inside the courtroom. He\u2019ll always be my baby,\u201d she told jurors. \u201cI love him very much.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She also insisted her son felt deep remorse for what happened.<\/p>\n<p>Then came one of the most emotional moments of the case.<\/p>\n<p>Austin\u2019s twin brother, Hunter Metcalf, addressed Anthony directly during his victim impact statement. After asking Anthony to look him in the eye, Hunter described the devastating pain of losing not only his brother, but also his best friend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou took a son, a brother, a friend, and my best friend from this world,\u201d Hunter said emotionally.<\/p>\n<p>He spoke about watching his mother cry herself to sleep and struggling to face life without his twin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow I want everything taken from you,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Hours later, jurors returned with their sentencing decision. They rejected the defense\u2019s \u201csudden passion\u201d argument and sentenced Anthony to 35 years in state prison.
