{"id":64,"date":"2026-05-21T19:48:05","date_gmt":"2026-05-21T19:48:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/earlybirdstories.pics\/?p=64"},"modified":"2026-05-21T19:48:05","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T19:48:05","slug":"wheel-of-fortune-contestant-delinda-rood-stuns-ryan-seacrest-with-a-lightning-fast-bonus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/earlybirdstories.pics\/?p=64","title":{"rendered":"WHEEL OF FORTUNE CONTESTANT DELINDA ROOD STUNS RYAN SEACREST WITH A LIGHTNING FAST BONUS"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"subscriber-preview\">\n<p>Rosemount resident Delinda Rood earned some extra attention Tuesday night after she won $65,650 on the television game show &#8220;Wheel of Fortune&#8221; with a speedy bonus round puzzle solve.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-preview\">\n<p>It took more time for Rood to say her answer, &#8220;warm quilt,&#8221; than it did for her fill in the blanks of the &#8220;Around the House&#8221; puzzle of &#8220;_ARM\u00a0 _ _ _ LT.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-only\">\n<p>Rood indicated to Lakeland Public Television that her mother-in-law&#8217;s hobby likely planted the phrase in her mind.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-only\">\n<p>\u201cThank goodness to her being an avid quilter that I was like, \u2018Oh, it\u2019s not \u201cfarm built,\u201d it\u2019s not \u201cdark vault,\u201d It\u2019s, you know, like around the house,&#8217;\u201d she told Lakeland. \u201c\u2018Oh, it\u2019s \u2018warm quilt,\u2019 and so, yeah, so thanks to her.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-only\">\n<p>Such a rapid puzzle solve is rare on the show, as host Ryan Seacrest was surprised with Rood&#8217;s decisiveness after she said when the timer started: &#8220;For my mother-in-law, warm quilt.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-only\">\n<p>\u201cYou didn\u2019t even have to guess out loud,&#8221; he said. &#8220;You knew it right there with those letters, right?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-only\">\n<p>&#8220;I knew it,\u201d replied Rood, a Brainerd native who won $45,000 in the bonus round.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-only\">\n<p>Lakeland reported that it was Rood&#8217;s longtime dream to be on the game show, as she had been applying to appear on it for the past three years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-only\">\n<p>Rood nearly didn&#8217;t travel to Los Angeles for her appearance after her mother-in-law had a health scare, according to Lakeland.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-only\">\n<p>It was only appropriate that her final puzzle linked the two together.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-only\">\n<p>Rood advanced to the final round by solving four of the six puzzles before the other two contestants. She had a total of $20,650, including a trip to Scottsdale, Arizona, in the opening rounds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-only\">\n<p>She said she brought her daughter, Molly, and her husband, Mark, to California to see the show.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-only\">\n<p>Rood told Lakeland that she plans to use part of her winnings to take a vacation with her family.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"tncms-region-article_instory_bottom\" class=\"tncms-region hidden-print\">\n<div id=\"tncms-block-3829989\" class=\"tncms-block\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"This Solve Is Dedicated ...
