President Donald Trump has suggested replacing parts of the planned Freedom 250 celebration with a large political rally after several performers reportedly withdrew from the event.<\/p>\n
The concerts, organized as part of America\u2019s upcoming 250th anniversary celebrations, have faced setbacks as artists including Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, The Commodores, and Young MC distanced themselves from the project. Some reportedly said they were unaware of the event\u2019s political connections.<\/p>\n
In a Truth Social post, Trump criticized the artists who pulled out and proposed an alternative.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe should have a giant MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RALLY,\u201d Trump wrote, arguing that it would be more popular than concerts featuring \u201coverpriced singers.\u201d<\/p>\n
Trump also suggested canceling the concert series entirely and replacing it with an \u201cAMERICA IS BACK Rally.\u201d He went on to joke that he could headline the event himself, claiming he attracts larger crowds than Elvis Presley did in his prime.<\/p>\n
